In 2005 Kalispel Case Line began the research to create a line of over and under shotguns that would match the quality, reliability and affordability of Caseline products. We began looking for a manufacturer that could meet our criteria of experience, innovation, modern technology and a love of tradition. Our goal to create a product using our specific ideas and standards coupled with time honored gun making traditions would be a major undertaking.

After searching world-wide we established F.A.I.R. (Fabrique Armes Issadoro Rizzini) as the best choice to meet all of our criteria. F.A.I.R. has been in the Italian gun making industry since 1971 and has earned a reputation for quality, production capability and good business practices. F.A.I.R. is located in the Val Trompia valley of Italy in the town of Marcheno. Their manufacturing methods of modern technology and old world tradition made them the ideal choice to manufacture our line of Cortona shotguns. We gave them a list of features we wanted to see in our product and asked them to build the best shotgun of its kind. We tasked them with making the shotgun tough, reliable and beautiful. The Cortona shotgun is the result of this collaboration.

The name Cortona comes from a very old and beautiful city in Italy. The city of Cortona is believed to be one of the oldest cities in Europe. It was established as a city where the intelligentsia gathered and a city of great beauty. We believe our Cortona line of shotguns are a very intelligent design as well as beautiful.
